Key Account Manager

As an Account Manager you will make the difference by managing, maintaining and building relations with existing customers, prospects and important key accounts and you will work closely within a multi-disciplinary Marketing & Sales team. The Account Manager role is a direct report to the Manager Sales EMEA & LATAM and part of the European Sales Team. You are willing to travel up to 30 % of your working time and can navigate in a diverse international environment.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Inspire customers about the benefits and features of the Sensus Frutafit® and Frutalose® chicory root fiber product portfolio.
  • Draw up yearly sales and (key) account plans for the assigned customer portfolio and execute the commercial strategy.
  • Negotiate annual agreements (prices and conditions), issue quotations, conclude contracts and framework agreements, investigate possibilities for new sales opportunities.
  • Prepare accurate forecasting, realize sales targets, report activities and build sustainable growth.
  • Work closely together with colleagues at customer service & logistic department and multi-disciplinary teams by providing excellent service and deliveries of our products assuring customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure the development and maintain relationships with international customers via engaging in various levels, positions and disciplines to analyze customer needs.
  • Initiate and coordinate projects with customers, maintain CRM system, project pipeline and convert identified new opportunities into concrete business.
  • Provide and present versatile (marketing, technological and nutritional content) information during customers visits; possibly supported by other disciplines.
  • Contribute to the development of new sales tools to inspire our customers.
  • Analyse, report and keep track of trends and developments in the food, beverage and nutraceutical industry.
  • Visit frequently customers, exhibitions, events, seminars and other networking opportunities.



  • Bachelor or Master degree in Food Technology, Health Sciences or similar field.
  • At least 5 years solid track record in a commercial /technical role in the food industry, preferably in a ‘B2B’ environment.
  • Ability to connect with customers of different cultures and a team player.
  • Entrepreneurial attitude, continuously searching for opportunities and creating new possibilities.
  • Strong commercial and value selling capabilities connected to nutritional and health promoting ingredients.
  • Flexible, decisive and execution oriented, can make things happen.
  • Good communication, excellent presentation and organizational skills.
  • Native Dutch and/or fluent in English and any other language is a plus.

Het eerste gesprek

In het eerste gesprek kom je in contact met jouw mogelijk toekomstige manager en uiteraard is er iemand van HR aanwezig om je als persoon wat beter te leren kennen.


Mogelijk is een case onderdeel van de procedure. Hierin wordt er gekeken hoe je met bepaalde praktijksituaties om zou gaan. Vaak kan de case vanuit huis worden gemaakt en soms maak je de case voor aanvang van het 2e gesprek op locatie.

Het tweede gesprek

Wat goed je bent nog in de procedure! Tijdens dit gesprek gaan we nog wat dieper op de zaken in. Daarnaast willen ook deze personen je nog wat beter leren kennen, zodat we zeker weten dat we een mooie match hebben.
